Due to the highly innovative nature of gene and cell therapies, researchers, teachers and caregivers are subject to multiple cross-cutting issues, the solutions of which must be discussed collegially. Thus, made up of very diverse profiles, the college must engage in all the themes raised by the Think-Tank and propose its vision on designated issues such as research funding, or the inventory and dissemination of educational resources. .

After an agricultural engineering degree in Belgium, I obtained a doctorate in biology in 2000 in Germany. Since 2007, I have been an INSERM researcher and since then I have dedicated my research to gene and cell therapies with the aim of developing new drugs to cure genetic diseases. Since 2016, I have been president of the French society for gene and cell therapy. In alliance with G & CTI, we feel stronger to pursue our common goals through the Teacher, Research and Caregiver college. The members of this college are pursuing the primary objective of promoting gene and cell therapy. They work to inform and make known to all the principles and issues of these new revolutionary drugs.

EVERYBODY HAS A WORD TO SAY
For more than ten years, I have developed gene therapy approaches in neuromuscular diseases in academic laboratories. From these experiences I have acquired the conviction that pooling skills is essential to provide solutions to patients. So I naturally decided to join G & CTI to move forward on these changes.
I joined G & CTI because I believe that the connection between scientists, doctors, patients, companies, public and authorities is the key success factor for the development and the application of successful gene and cell therapy strategies.

G & CTi proposes to collectively reflect on the medical, societal and ethical implications of gene and cell therapy and to propose solutions. I joined him in order to participate in this interdisciplinary reflection essential for the future of this new technologies.
